12mm Quick Fitting is a widely used accessory in pneumatic systems, designed to quickly, conveniently, and securely connect air tubes with an outer diameter of 12mm.
Key Features
- "One-Touch" Connection: The most prominent advantage. Users only need to push the air tube straight into the fitting until a "click" is heard or resistance is felt; the tube is automatically locked and sealed. To release, simply press the release ring and pull the tube out.
- Diverse Designs and Functions: Available in various shapes to suit different connection needs:
- Union Straight: Connects two tubes in a straight line.
- Elbow (L-type): Changes tube direction by 90 degrees.
- Tee (T-type): Splits or connects three tubes.
- Y-Splitter (Y-type): Splits one tube into two branches.
- Threaded Connection (Male/Female Thread): One threaded end to connect to valves, cylinders, or filters.
- Reducer: Connects a 12mm tube to a smaller diameter tube.
- High Sealing Performance: High-quality fittings (such as Pisco, SMC, Festo, Parker...) are equipped with rubber seals (usually NBR) and a special gripping claw mechanism. This ensures the tube is held securely and prevents air leakage even under high pressure.
- Durable Materials: The body is typically made of high-grade engineering plastics (such as PBT, Nylon) or metals (nickel-plated brass, stainless steel) with corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and industrial-grade working pressure tolerance.
- Wide Operating Pressure and Temperature Range: Most 12mm quick fittings operate effectively in common pneumatic pressure ranges (usually up to 1.0 MPa or 10 bar) and temperatures from 0 to 60°C (non-freezing), suitable for most applications.
- Broad Compatibility: Compatible with standard pneumatic tubes such as Polyurethane (PU), Nylon (PA), and Polyethylene (PE).
Common Applications
- Automation systems: Connecting pneumatic cylinders, control valves in production lines, industrial robots.
- Industrial machinery: Connecting pneumatic components of packaging machines, textile machines, printing machines, CNC machines.
- Workshops and maintenance: Installing pneumatic piping systems for handheld tools like spray guns, pneumatic drills, grinders.
- Automotive industry: In assembly lines, repair shops.
- Electronics and semiconductors: In equipment requiring clean and precise compressed air.
- General pneumatic transmission systems: Anywhere flexible and efficient compressed air transmission is needed.
Usage Notes
- Cut Tubes Squarely and Cleanly: Always use a dedicated tube cutter. Ensure the cut is flat, perpendicular to the tube body, and free of burrs or scratches. This is extremely important to ensure sealing and prevent leaks.
- Proper Installation: Push the tube into the fitting until it bottoms out. You will feel two "clicks" or slight resistance, and then the tube will be secured. Pull gently on the tube to check if it is secure.
- Safe Tube Removal: Ensure there is no air pressure in the tube before removing the fitting. Press the release ring evenly and deeply into the fitting, then gently pull the tube out. Do not force the tube out if the release ring is not fully pressed.
- Avoid Mechanical Loads: Do not subject the fitting and tube to unwanted forces such as twisting, stretching, excessive bending, or strong impacts, as this can damage the fitting, deform the tube, or cause the tube to slip out.
- Working Environment: Avoid direct contact of the fitting with strong corrosive chemicals or temperatures exceeding the manufacturer's limits.
