Correct Technical Usage
- Step 1: Surface preparation: This is the most critical step. Clean dust, oil, and grease from the bonding surface using an Isopropyl Alcohol and water mixture (1:1 ratio) and let it dry.
- Step 2: Apply the tape: Apply the 3M 9080R tape to the first surface. Use your hands or a roller to press firmly, ensuring the adhesive makes full contact without air bubbles.
- Step 3: Joining: Peel off the white liner (with the red 3M logo), then attach the second surface and continue to press firmly for a few seconds.
Important Notes
- Optimal application temperature: The adhesive performs best when applied at temperatures between 21°C and 38°C. Avoid applying when the surface is too cold (below 10°C) as the adhesive will harden and be difficult to bond.
- Time to reach maximum adhesion: After application, adhesion reaches about 50% after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours, and reaches its peak after 72 hours.
- Storage: Store the tape in a cool, dry place (room temperature around 22°C), away from direct sunlight to prevent adhesive degradation.
